After a quick clean up if was time to start to attend to the structural
work. The first thing was to fit a new piece into the stem to take
a king plank.

The
next repair was to a broken deck beam, this was the only beam needing
attention.

The clean up revealed that the interior has been painted with a
tar like substance, more about this later.

The king plank was the next thing to be fitted

The new hog was made from laminated 2mm Mahogany strips in place,
I thought I'd taken loads of pictures of this process, but can't
find them. This picture shows the hog in place along with the
new centreboard case.

After the initial structural work was completed it was time to
turn Athene over and use good old metallic pink primer on the
hull

Pink primer all over!

The hull now has a couple of coats of undercoat and it's time to
add more timber. The rubbing strake is going on.

Completed rubbing strake.
I'm currently stripping the bitumen gunk from the
interior. More pictures will follow in due course.
