A few days ago I had an email forwarded to me that came with this signature

So far this is the longest signature I’ve seen and probably the most pointless
If you are not the intended recipient be advised that any use, dissemination, forwarding, printing or copying of this email is strictly prohibited
How is this prohibited? Under what legislation? If this is strictly prohibited is there a type of email forwarding that’s only mildly prohibited?
If you have received this email in error please delete it together with any attachment and contact the sender.Â
So, if I delete the email first how am I going to contact the sender?
Only print this email if absolutely necessary.
Thanks for telling, I’d never have thought about that - my finger was over the Print button
As I was writing this my colleague read me out another signature

Another request not to print, thanks.
I particularly like the sentence
If you are not the intended recipient, or a person responsible for delivering it to the intended recipient or are aware that this e-mail has been sent to you in error, you may not read, disclose, copy, distribute, or retain this message or any part of itÂ
Surely if I’ve got the email I’ve read it before I scroll through this mass of information telling me that I may not read it.
Maybe I should:
- print it out (thinking about it first)
- go to the bottom of my print out,
- read the instructions
- find out I’m not the recipient.
- delete the email as per instructions
- ……………………as I’ve printed it out I could put put the email in an envelope and post it back to the sender

Good job it’s not from a Welsh college!
